The safety features found in Toyota Hilux 2019

With its go anywhere and do anything attitude, Toyota as a company is doing everything to ensure that the Toyota Hilux 2019 remains unbreakable no matter what gets thrown at it. At the same time the company has been doing everything they can to ensure that the vehicle is equipped with outstanding levels of safety through both passive and active safety features.

Safety Features available on Toyota Hilux 2019

Let’s look at some of the safety features added on the 2019 Toyota Hilux.

 ABS brakes

The anti –skid braking system uses a combination of modern electronics and a hydraulic actuator to monitor the wheels during braking. If the systems detect that the wheels are begging to lock, it automatically adjusts the braking pressure so as to free the lock up. This actually helps the driver retain control of steering during hard braking or an emergency stop which in turns helps in avoiding accidents.

ABS is also another reason for Toyota Hilux's legendary un-breakability because even though you may not be able to rely on the driver in front of you or the weather, this vehicle you can really depend on.

Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)

Vehicle stability control comes as standard on all the 4x4 Hilux variants. The system uses fast acting computer based intelligence to sense over steer (back wheel sideways skids) and under steer (front wheel sideways skid) during cornering and it automatically activates to keep the vehicle on track.

Vehicle stability control works by monitoring steering angle against the direction in which the vehicle is actually travelling to and uses the results to sense when the front or rear wheels begin to slip.
This way it will be able to automatically detect when the vehicle is not on its intended path and therefore will be able to intervene, controlling engine power and brake force to each individual wheel to dampen under steer and over steer. This minimizes skidding and helps to ensure safer cornering.

In most cases VSC plays no part in your driving, but it will automatically activate at the first signs of skidding. It will then take corrective action to help the driver remain in control of the vehicle and keep it headed in the intended direction.

Traction Control (TRC)

Transaction control which is also now standard on all 4x4 Hilux variants provides the logical reverse system to Anti-skid Braking where ABS helps in reducing wheel lockup during hard braking; TRC also helps the vehicle to avoid wheel spin while accelerating.

Whether the vehicle is accelerating, braking or cornering, the TRC system automatically kicks in at the first sign of any wheel spin, to ensure maximum grip on loose and slippery surfaces.

TRC will detect when one or more wheels is beginning to spin and then it automatically compensates by adjusting braking force and engine power to each power individually so that each wheel  has the maximum grip possible.

It is even smart enough to sense when the surfaces differ from one side of the vehicle to the other, such as when driving on narrow roads with one wheel on the grass verge or delivering to sites along partially made up trucks.

Crumple Zone

The Hilux’s crumple zone is designed to help absorb the impact and thus protect the driver and the passengers in case of an accident. The cabin comes complete with side door Anti-intrusion beams and a head impact protection structure to help absorb impact. It also has a cross member at the front end of the frame, helping prevent smaller vehicle intrusion. The cabin structure is designed to spread the energy throughout the body of the vehicle.

Am sure with all the above safety features put in place by Toyota company you will want to buy yourself a Toyota Hilux 2019 which will not only give you the surety of being safe but also quality too.
